When home on a two month break, she met her husband to be and returned to Bahrain to finish her school year. She then returned to the US was married in 2011, and was living in Pawnee, OK. She and her husband then moved to Billings, MT and now live in Red Oak, Iowa with our two grandsons.

My Story

Wow, where do I begin... graduated from CU-Boulder in 1975 with a degree in Psychology. Stayed another 6 months and became an EMT and was hired in Montana at Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area as a Law Enforcement Ranger after attending FLETC in Brunswick, GA. Spent the Spring & Summer there and transferred down to the southern unit for the Fall hunting season. Spent the winter in Estes Park, Colorado and the next Spring was hired at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Lake Powell) at the Bullfrog Basin unit. Worked there for 2 years, was married and we transferred to Sequoia National Park in California. I decided to go to Nursing school at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA. Completed a full year and my husband applied to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park so we moved after 1 1/2 years. Completed Nursing school at the University of Hawaii- Hilo and began working at the local hospital. Had fun in Hawaii as we had already been there for our honeymoon but after 2 years, my husband took a transfer to Olympic National Park in Port Angeles, WA. We lived there for 4 years, my 2 daughters were born there, I worked in the hospital there and then we transferred to Petrified Forest National Park near Holbrook, AZ. and stayed another 4 years. We then transferred to Yosemite National Park at the Wawona unit where my kids started school in a one room school and I was the school secretary. I took a break from medicine but really missed it so after 3 years, we moved to Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Gatlinburg, TN and I went back to school at the University of Tennessee - Knoxvile to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Graduated in1994 and we again transferred back west to Mesa Verde National Park in 1996. My husband retired out of the park after 7 years serving 35 years in the National Park Service. We decided to retire here and have been here for the last 25 years. I retired in 12/2017 after almost a 20 year career with the Indian Health Service.
